    Four arrested following narcotics investigation

    During the first week of April detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team concluded three narcotics investigations involving the sell/distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine in Yadkin County. These investigations led to the arrest of four subjects including: Maurice Raphael Curtis, Makayla Elizabeth Money, Byron Samuel Jones, and Paxton Fleming Brendle.

    Maurice Raphael Curtis, age 37 of Yadkinville, was arrested and charged with the following:

    • 1 felony count of Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

    • 1 felony count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

    Curtis was located in Wilkes County and served with an outstanding warrant for arrest pertaining to this matter. Curtis received a $7,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Yadkin County court on April 16.

    Paxton Fleming Brendle, age 34 of Boonville, was arrested and charged with the following:

    • 1 felony count of Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

    • 2 felony counts of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

    • 2 felony counts of Maintaining a Dwelling/Vehicle for the Sale of Controlled Substances

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Clonazepam)

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    Brendle was on supervised probation in Yadkin County (stemming from prior controlled substance violations which were investigated and charged by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office) at the time these offenses occurred. At the time of Brendle’s arrest for these new charges, Yadkin County Probation & Parole officers assisted and additional controlled substances were located at his residence. Brendle also received charges pertaining to probation violations as a result of this investigation. He received multiple secured bonds in this matter with a total of $45,000 and is scheduled to appear in Yadkin County court on May 21.

    Makayla Elizabeth Money, age 27 of Mocksville, was arrested and charged with the following:

    • 2 felony counts of Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

    • 2 felony counts of Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

    • 2 felony counts of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

    • 1 felony count of Sell/Deliver a Counterfeit Controlled Substance

    • 1 felony count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver a Counterfeit Controlled Substance

    • 3 felony counts of Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale/Use of Controlled Substances

    • 1 felony count of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Driving While License Revoked/Suspended

    Money received a $100,000 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in Yadkin County court on April 10.

    Byron Samuel Jones, age 26 of Mocksville, was arrested and charged with the following:

    • 2 felony counts of Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

    Jones received no bond due to being out on bond for other pending charges and was scheduled to appear in Yadkin County court on April 10.
