Steiny: Warriors have to pay Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson may be playing his way out of the Warriors' price range, or at least making their decision on whether to re-sign him increasingly difficult.

After a sterling, 32-point performance (12-of-23) against the Utah Jazz Sunday night without Stephen Curry, Thompson might be playing his best ball of the season. Steiny and Guru discussed his performance, leading Steiny to say that the Warriors need to pay Thompson.

He doesn't think Thompson will get less than the two years and $48 million he was offered in the offseason.

"You should pay the man," Steinmetz said. "It's gonna hurt, but you gotta pay Klay Thompson right now... Klay Thompson has won a lot of fans over. I think most Warriors fans are now saying let's get him back here at a good number. If it's 25, it's 25. If it's a little more than that, it's a little more than that.

But I think most Warriors fans right now would like to see Klay Thompson come back if that number is anywhere between 25 and 30. And I think there's probably a lot of fans who don't really care about the money, and rightfully so, where they're like, if we can get him back, we want him back."
