    Yadkin County Schools announce new superintendent

    The Yadkin County Schools Board of Education has announced that Anthony Davis will serve as the next Superintendent of Yadkin County Schools, effective July 1. Davis replaces Dr. Todd Martin who retired from the position on March 1.

    Davis currently serves as the Director of Federal Programs and Career and Technical Education in Davie County Schools, a position he has held for the past six years. Davis is returning to YCS where he previously served as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Prior to working in Davie County, Davis served as Principal of Forbush Middle School and Forbush Elementary School. He also served as a teacher and coach at Forbush High School for 13 years, including six years as the school’s Athletics Director. Davis also served as an administrator in Elkin City Schools for four years.

    “With 26 years of experience as an educator, Mr. Davis brings a wealth of instructional knowledge and educational leadership to YCS,” said Board Chairman Jennifer Hemric. “The Board of Education is excited that he is returning home to serve as our next Superintendent. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Davis back to Yadkin County Schools!
