Wasatch Weekend Storm Update And Upcoming Weather Forecast

This past weekend brought some pretty phenomenal powder skiing to the Wasatch. I got out in the backcountry on both Saturday and Sunday and had some excellent powder turns. New snow combined with some winds and colder temperatures made it feel just like February again. I even got to ski the coveted south face of Mount Superior in phenomenal powder which felt pretty special.

As I tromped through deep snow and arced smooth turns this weekend, I couldn't help but wonder if they would be some of my last powder turns of the season or if there were more to be had. So, of course, I started the week by perusing the weather forecast.

According to the National Weather Service , it looks like this week is going to be mostly clear and sunny. Daytime temperatures are projected to get above freezing which could make for some very wet powder skiing. Winds are expected to be light so likely won't be a huge problem this week. If you're able to find some more sheltered terrain, it could be a great week to ski bluebird powder. But it might not be your last chance. According to the extended forecast, more snow showers are expected to start Friday night and continue through the weekend. Temperatures may be high and it's too early to say how much precipitation is expected, but next weekend could offer another round of storm skiing.
