BLADEN COUNTY – The East Bladen Eagles senior guard Lee Barnes and junior guard Dominick Collins make the Waccamaw All-Conference team. Barnes was known to hit daggers from the three-point line and his 11.3 ppg was enough to earn him a spot on the All-Conference list. He drained 70 three-pointers last season and he hit eight three-point baskets in a win against Whiteville on the Eagles Senior Night.

Collins led the Eagles in scoring this season with 14 ppg and his ability to create his own offense off the dribble made him a key player for his team. He dropped a season-high 30 points against Pender for a 24 point victory at home and he also had an eye for a pass as the primary ball-handler for the Eagles. Heide Trask continued their reign as the kings of the Waccamaw Conference with another successful season at a perfect 12-0.

The Titans claimed their second straight Waccamaw Regular-season conference title and they won their second straight Waccamaw Conference Tournament title. Heide Trask senior guard Myron McKoy was awarded with Player of the Year and his head coach Rodney Orr took Coach of the Year. Their contributions to their team resulted in an overall record of 24-5 and they made it to the third round of the 2A NCHSAA State Playoffs as the number-six seed in the East Region.

Senior forward Bradford Bannermen and freshmen center Gio Diggers join McKoy in the Titans list of names for All-Conference selections. West Columbus’ senior guard Unique Kelly and senior forward Tyler Watts-Brown were selected to the All-Conference team as the representatives for the Vikings. Whiteville’s backcourt of Amari Best and Will Fisher were included in the list of names for All-Conference selection.

South Columbus’ Andrew Todd and Khalil Morgan were the Stallions All-Conference players. Pender’s Cyrus Page was the sole-representative for the Patriots and East Columbus’ Cainan Patrick was the sole-representative for the Gators to round off the All-Conference list.

Honorable mentions: East Bladen senior center Rodney Lacewell, Heide Trask Martez Davis and Treyvon Robinson, West Columbus’ Jaylen Bellemy, Whitevile’s Brycen Edwards, South Columbus’ AJ Scott, and Pender’s Ryan Hhowell.
