    PREP TRACK: Hononegah's Sophia Hedges, Coen Lee shine in triangular meet

    ROCKTON — Sophia Hedges and Coen Lee both had outstanding meets as Hononegah’s boys and girls track and field teams hosted NIC-10 foes Belvidere and Belvidere North on a breezy Tuesday at Kelsey Field.

    Hedges raced to first in both the 100-meter dash (13.18) and the 200 (26.66).

    Lee was unstoppable in the hurdle events for the boys, winning the 110 highs in 15.60 and taking the 300 intermediates in 41.35. He also ran a leg of the 4x400 relay that won in 3:44.24.

    The Indians took 1-2-3 in the 200 with Hedges followed by Jordan Dimke in 28.63 and Ashlyn Richter in 28.72.

    Dimke also ran a leg of the victorious 4x200 relay team which also included Kylie Simpson, Allyson Niedfeldt and Lauren Frake. They won in 1:56.2. Niedfeldt was also first in the 800 (2:33.03).

    The Indians picked up a first from Stephanie Irving in the 100 hurdles (19.40).

    Hononegah’s boys picked up a win from Cristian Lobato in the 200 (23.46), Anthony Otero in the 400 (52.97), Bryce Mohnacky in the 800 (2:20.77) and they were 1-2-3 in the 3200 with with Ben Toole (11:20.10), Jayden Philbee (11:34.10) and Isaiah Mohnacky (12:04.90).

    Lobato was also second in the 100 (11.70). Sam Hagg finished second to him in the 200 in 23.96 and also was second in the 400 in 53.16. Jacob Wright was second in the 1600.

    The Indians won the 4x100 relay and Jack Ginter finished second to Lee in the high hurdles and third in the 300 intermediates (44.57).

    In the field events, Jake McLarty won the pole vault (12-06). Seth Newman won the long jump with Drew Shockley second. Camden Juno was second in the high jump. Greyson Merrill (37-06.50), Oliver Campbell (36-08.25) and Nolan Meyers (35-05.0) went 1-2-3 in the triple jump.
