Extension service wants your opinion Brian Smith Tue, 04/09/2024 - 8:12 pm Concerned citizens and problem solvers are invited to a meeting at 6 p.m. next Tuesday, April 16 at the Jack County Fair Barn. Jack County AgriLife Extension Agent – Family & Consumer Science Alinda Cox said the Texas Community Futures Forum is designed to assist local agents and the leadership advisory board identify the most critical issues affecting local citizens. “We have one of these about every three to five years,” Cox explained. “Adults will want to discuss while hogs and foraging. Others will want to talk about kids drinking and vaping, how there’s nothing here to do in the county for the kids. All these things will help us develop programming to aid in this.” Extension programs help address the most critical issues in the county, related to agriculture and natural resources, families and health, youth development and community development. To make sure that the programs being planned are on target, the public’s participation in the TCFF process is welcome. “The public’s opinion is highly valued in our community, so we truly hope they can join us,” Cox said. Cox said she expected the forum will last less than two hours. If you have any questions contact Cox at 940-567-2132.
