Chad Daybell trial live: ‘Cult’ dad and Lori Vallow inquired about Hawaii property for ‘clean couple with no kids’

Three days after Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow got married on a beach in Hawaii , the doomsday cult author sent an email to a realtor inquiring about a property on the islands for a “clean couple with no kids or pets.”

The email from Chad.Daybell@gmail.com to Hawaii Dreams Realty on 8 November 2019, Rexburg Police Detective Chuck Kunsaitis testified at his trial Wednesday. At the time, Vallow’s children, Tylee Ryan, 16, and JJ Vallow, had been missing for nearly two months.

“We are interested in seeing this property,” the email read. “Would the owners be interested in leasing this property to a clean couple with no kids or pets.”

Nine months after the children were last seen, they were found buried on Mr Daybell’s property in Rexburg, Idaho .

Prosecutors say his “desire for sex, power, and money” led to their murders , along with the sudden death of his then-wife Tammy. His defence attorney John Prior, however, said his client was manipulated by Vallow.

Last year, Vallow was convicted in the three murders and sentenced to life in prison. Jurors heard how she, Mr Daybell and her late brother Alex Cox were fuelled, in part, by their bizarre cult beliefs.

If convicted, Mr Daybell faces either the death penalty or life in prison.
