    Fear of Overdevelopment is Building up Among Some Neighbors in Accomack County

    What Mercer doesn't realize is that the housing development isn't going to benefit Wallops at all. Yes, Wallops hires people from all over the country but 9/10 of the people they hire that move here do not stay because there isn't a lot to do here in the winter (tourist off season) so they move away to somewhere that has a lot to do year round either their first or second off season. Which is why most employers at Wallops try to hire more locally.

    in case no one's noticed, the Eastern Shore is starting to look and act just like the Western Shore. Woodlands and Farmland are quickly becoming housing developments and shopping centers or filled with solar panels. Our Eco System can't handle all the sewage now. Everything is being concreted and paved over, guaranteeing nothing naturally will ever grow there again except for weeds. Just a thought.
