Crews Bank collecting supplies for ‘Kids Thrive!’ benefit

Several Crews Bank & Trust branches are serving as collection points through April 16 for “spring refresh” supplies. Donations will be distributed to families in need through the United Way of Charlotte County’s Women United “Kids Thrive!” Collaborative. Five Crews Bank branches are collecting items that are considered critical needs, such as paper towels, diapers and wipes, hygiene and cleaning products — items that don’t always make it into the shopping cart when budgets are tight. Wish lists are posted in each participating branch, along with the donation boxes.

“We’re always happy to join the United Way to help local children whose families are struggling,” said Lory Weisensee, president of Trust & Wealth Management at Crews Bank & Trust. “Our customers and staff always respond with full hearts and much enthusiasm.”

Customers and visitors to the bank are welcome to donate one or more of the items on the wish lists during lobby hours, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. -6 p.m. Friday, at the following locations:

    ¦ Murdock branch, 1100 Tamiami

    Trail, Port Charlotte

    ¦ Parkside branch, 3002 Tamiami

    Trail, Port Charlotte

¦ Punta Gorda branch, 2331 Tamiami

    Trail, Punta Gorda

    ¦ Peachland branch, 24163 Peachland

    Blvd., Port Charlotte

    ¦ Gulf Cove branch, 12651 S. McCall

Road, Port Charlotte, will accept donations 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

    Friday.

The United Way of Charlotte County focuses on education, health and financial stability — the building blocks for a good quality of life. With administrative support from United Way of Charlotte County, and through a collaboration of community partnerships, Women United makes an impact in the community by assisting the “Kids Thrive!” Circle of Parents peer support group, women who are raising children exposed to early childhood trauma.
