The attention to detail and exquisite presentation of sushi has long made it a fine dining staple. For fans of sushi and buffets together as one, King’s Sushi in Surfside Beach, South Carolina is one of the best on the beach for all you can eat sushi and more, and an ideal place to expand one’s taste palette, and maybe even find a new favorite sushi roll.

The all you can eat format is pretty straightforward. One simply orders off the menu at the table, the waiter or waitress takes the order to the kitchen, and food comes out as ordered. One can order as many or as few times as they like.

As a common courtesy to avoid wasting food, one best practice is to always under-order or break up orders, instead of ordering everything at once right away. One will get charged extra if too much food is wasted and it’s just a good thing to not waste anything if one can help it.

Appetizers are an amazing place to start, with staples like gyoza and crab rangoon expertly crafted and fried up to perfection. A personal favorite app is the chicken katsu, a lightly breaded and fried chicken breast that is absolutely delicious.

Whether one wants an iconic hand or classic roll, or a special roll to try something new, all the sushi at King’s is excellent. Two personal favorites are the Sea Angel roll with spicy crabmeat, spicy shrimp, and crunch and the Las Vegas roll with deep-fried salmon, cream cheese, eel sauce, and mayo.

For fans of hibachi, King’s Sushi has one covered and then some too. Hibachi options include vegetable, chicken, steak, or shrimp, and come standard with assorted veggies and fried rice. For something a little more spicy, check out the teriyaki style too, featuring the same vegetable, chicken, steak, or shrimp options sure to please.
