Area lacrosse teams got back to the action last week, with several making season debuts. The Rebels, Falcons, and a new Armstrong/Cooper co-op girls team all picked up wins.

    Rebels

Champlin Park girls lacrosse hit the ground running last week with a 9-7 win over Rosemount, starting the season on a high note. The Rebels, section champions last year, took an 8-3 lead in the first half. The team then survived a surge from Rosemount in the second half to secure the win.

Lauren Schindlbeck scored four goals for the Rebels and made two assists. Annabelle Johnson scored three goals and made one assist. Reese Hagenbart and Alayna Roehl scored one each.

Champlin Park play three games next week, traveling to Anoka on April 15, before hosting Coon Rapids and Wayzata on April 17 and 20, respectively.

    Armstrong

Armstrong boys lacrosse played an eventful home opener on April 11, hosting Blaine in a 7-6 overtime conference win. The victory provides positive momentum ahead of a busy conference run next week for the Falcons, who traveled to Totino-Grace on April 15, after this edition went to press, and Maple Grove on Wednesday, April 17.

    AC

The new-look Armstrong/Cooper girls co-op lacrosse team made a statement of intent last week with a blockbuster 15-10 conference win over Blaine on the road on April 11.

The Wings planned to return to the field twice next week, hosting Totino-Grace/St. Anthony in the team’s first home game on April 15 and hosting Maple Grove April 17 (after this edition went to press).

    Breck

The Breck boys and girls lacrosse teams both opened seasons last week, facing tough losses. The boys hosted Providence Academy in a 10-5 loss on April 11, while the girls traveled to Mahtomedi the same day in a 15-2 loss.

The boys returned to play April 15, hosting Kennedy/Burnsville. The team will play rivals from The Blake School at home Thursday, April 18 and Duluth Marshall on Saturday, April 20.

The girls will play three games next week, hosting Visitation on April 16, traveling to Lakeville North on Thursday, April 18, and hosting Holy Family on Saturday, April 20.
