The West Linn softball team improved to an eye-catching 12-1 record on Friday, picking up a dominant 18-1 win over Lake Oswego at Lake Oswego Junior High.

The Lions scored ten runs during a runaway top of the first inning to set the tone, and the Lakers never recovered, as West Linn won its ninth-straight game in 15-run rule fashion while improving to 2-0 in Three Rivers League play.

Meanwhile, Lake Oswego dropped its second-straight while falling to 0-2 in league play and 2-11 overall.

With the win, West Linn maintained its standing as the third-ranked 6A team according to the statewide OSAA rankings.

With their lone loss of the season coming at the hands of Dallas back on Mar. 25, the Lions are currently ranked No. 1 in the RPI rankings and No. 3 in the Colley Rankings.

Next, they’ll get a big test as they host second-ranked Oregon City on Monday, Apr. 15.

Meanwhile, Lake Oswego is set to travel to Tualatin the same day.
