The EnergyUnited Foundation provided more than $200,000 of community assistance funding for individuals, families, households and nonprofit organizations through the first quarter of 2024.

Through March, the foundation approved 58 individual, family and household requests and 4 nonprofit applications. Heating assistance grants were provided for 181 individuals and families, totaling more than $30,000. These grants offered critical support for shelter, utility bill assistance and other humane needs.

“Through the continued collaboration between the foundation, the cooperative and its members, together we are making a positive difference in each community we serve,” said LaQuisha Parks, vice president of energy services and corporate communications for EnergyUnited. “We are thankful to be a part of neighbors helping neighbors.”

A Storehouse for Jesus in Davie County received a $10,000 grant.

The foundation is a voluntary, member-funded non-profit organization supported by EnergyUnited’s Operation Round-Up program. More than 80,000 members choose to participate in the program by ‘rounding up’ their electric bills each month. The maximum monthly contribution for an individual member with one account is 99 cents. These contributions are pooled together in a single fund managed by the foundation to support needy individuals, families, and essential nonprofit organizations.
