ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) –  As the primary election season approaches, voters in Alderson and the surrounding area are reminded of crucial dates and changes to polling locations. According to a statement on the Town of Alderson Facebook page, there are some changes to polling locations that citizens need to be aware of prior to the start of voting.

Here is a breakdown of the voter information included in the statement:

April 23 is the deadline to register to vote:

First and foremost, mark your calendars for April 23, the deadline to register to vote. If you’re not yet registered, this is your opportunity to ensure your voice is heard in the upcoming primary election.

    May 1: Early Voting Begins

For those eager to cast their ballots ahead of Primary Election Day, May 1 marks the beginning of early voting. Take advantage of this opportunity to participate in the democratic process at your convenience.

    May 14: Primary Election Day

Primary Election Day is fast approaching, slated for May 14. Make sure you’re prepared to head to the polls and make your selections for the candidates who will represent your interests in the upcoming election cycle.

    Changes to Polling Locations:

It’s important to note changes to polling locations for certain voters in the area. If you’ve typically voted at the Alderson Community Center, which is currently undergoing construction for a new elementary school, your polling location for the primary election on May 14 will be the cafeteria of the current elementary school located at 500 Elmwood Avenue.

Likewise, voters who previously cast their ballots at City Hall in Monroe for county/state elections will now vote at the Alderson Senior Center, situated at 228 Monroe Street, South, for both the primary and general elections.

Stay informed and exercise your right to vote

As the primary election draws nearer, stay informed about any further updates or changes to ensure a smooth voting experience. Remember, your vote is your voice in shaping the future of your community and beyond. Take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the democratic process and make your voice heard on May 14 and throughout the election season.
