    Free Family Enrichment Classes at Mt. Zion Church, 414 Lincoln Avenue, Bemidji, MN April 25, May 9 and 23: 5:30-7:30 pm, “Learning to Draw, Drawing to Learn” class

    Everyone at one time used drawing to explore and describe their world. In our digital world, drawing perhaps is needed more than ever. Visual thinking skills are best learned through drawing, a critical ability in almost every walk of life. This class will explore many creative lessons and exercises allowing students to develop greater skills and confidence in their drawing abilities.

    April 25, May 9 and 23, June 6, 20 and 27: 5:30-7:30 pm “The Art of Rosemaling” class

    Our Scandinavian ancestors brought the art of rosemaling to the United States. This specific form of folk art uses C- and S-shaped brushstrokes that feature scroll and flowing lines, floral designs, and both subtle and vibrant colors. There are several styles of rosemaling, this class will concentrate on the Telemark style. Join us for a fun, relaxed experience into this popular folk art.

    June 6 and 20, 5:30-7:30 pm, “Working With Watercolors” class

    Watercolor painting is a medium that is unique and distinctly its own. Join us to experiment with a variety of tools to expand your creativity, to learn a few “loose” watercolor techniques, and then use these tools and techniques to complete your watercolor projects.

    Classes are for adult/child/family, age 8 and up, children must have an adult family member present. All supplies are provided.
