    PHOTO GALLEY: RCS Warriors roll past Fall Branch

    ROGERSVILLE — The Rogersville City School Warriors hit the ball early and often Tuesday (April 16) evening, winning 16-4 on eighth grade night over the visiting Fall Branch Cardinals.

    Conner Lyons and Teegan LeRoy shared pitching duties for the Warriors. The Warriors led 4-1 after one inning, 8-1 after two, 12-4 after three and were ahead 16-4 when the game was called after four innings.

    “I’m proud of the effort they put forth tonight. We had a great game against Fall Branch. Everybody got to participate. It was a good experience for some of the younger guys, and I’m proud that our older guys stepped up and did what we needed to do.”

    Cruz McBrayer had four hits, Teegan LeRoy three and Cade Putnal and Landon Davis two each. Davis scored four runs in the leadoff spot. LeRoy scored three times and drove in three runs. Putnal was 2 for 3 with four RBIs. McBrayer and Lyons each drove in two runs.

    The Warriors honored eighth graders Zack Daniel, Landon Davis, Teegan LeRoy and Cruz McBrayer before the game.

    “I’m really thankful for this eighth-grade group. I saw them come in and watched them grow. They’ve become good baseball players, good young men,” Price said.

    RCS 13, RMS 1

    ROGERSVILLE — RCS used seven hits, seven walks and four hit batters to run away with a 13-1 victory over county rival Rogersville Middle on Wednesday (April 17).

    Conner Lyons and Teegan LeRoy each had two hits, including a double, for RCS. Mac Phillips also doubled for the RCS Warriors. Landon Davis picked up two RBIs.

    Zack Daniel started and gave up one unearned run on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Zavion Good threw one scoreless inning to close out the game.

    Boones Creek 6, RCS 5

    BOONES CREEK — Boones Creek scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning for a 6-5 walk-off victory over the RCS Warriors on Monday (April 15).

    The teams battled throughout the game and were tied at 4-4 after five innings. They each went scoreless in the sixth and seventh to send the game into the eighth. RCS picked up one run to take the one-run lead before Boones Creek put together three singles and a sacrifice bunt to escape with the victory.

    Teegan LeRoy was 2 for 3 with three RBIs for RCS. Layton Ball also drove in two runs. Cade Putnal and Cruz McBrayer each contributed two hits. Mason McAnally doubled.

    Putnal got the start and gave up three runs (two earned) on no hits with seven walks and six strikeouts in three innings. Landon Davis came on in relief and took the loss, pitching 4 1/3 innings. He gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits and struck out seven without a walk.
