MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. ( WTRF ) – Marshall County officials say the new health department is making outstanding progress and has had very few delays since they broke ground last August.

The $9,000,000 dollar project is slated to wrap up by October of this year, and employees are expected to move in by November.

Betsy Frohnapfel, County Administrator, says this new building has so many benefits for not just the health department employees – but also the community.

“It’s two floors, a full basement. It has an environmental component. It has an administrative component that comes with a conference room. And of course, it has a component for their nurses and that the medical side of it, also the bottom of the courthouse or the bottom of the health department will be courthouse storage and health department storage. So, I think the building will work for them. And it’ll also give everybody in the courthouse a little more storage, which we all need.”

Grae-Con Construction out of Steubenville is the project contractor, and the architect is Silling Associates out of Charleston.
