It's easy to see why this restaurant in Parma, Ohio stays busy

    2024-04-21

The other day, I was craving a hearty breakfast, a meal fit for a champion. To fulfill this craving, I went to Tony's Family Restaurant, which is located in Parma at 1515 W Pleasant Valley Rd.

I went to the restaurant on a Friday morning, and it seemed like the parking lot was packed in spite of the early hour and chilly weather. The restaurant was busy inside as well and full of chatting customers. Despite how packed it was, I was seated at a table almost immediately after walking in.

When I looked at the breakfast menu, I saw classic items like eggs benedict, omelets, potato pancakes, steak & eggs, French toast, and pancakes. They all looked good, but I was intrigued by one of the specials - the Polish boy skillet ($13.99), which came with 3 homemade pierogies, Kielbasa sausage, cheddar cheese, onions, chives, and eggs cooked according to your preference. Pierogies for breakfast? Yes, please.

In a few quick minutes, my Polish boy skillet arrived. The 3 pierogies in the skillet were large, and stuffed with mashed potato and cheese. There was also plenty of sliced kielbasa sausage, and the scrambled eggs were big and fluffy. The skillet also came with 2 slices of toast on the side; I opted for white bread, which came already buttered and was served with grape jelly.

The Polish boy skillet was a filling and delicious breakfast fit for a champion. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked, the sausage was flavorful and juicy, and I could taste the love in the homemade pierogies. I only wish that the sliced onions had more caramelization on them. I like my onions golden brown and crispy; for me, the onions in my Polish Boy skillet were too pale.

Between the skillet and buttered toast with jelly, I was plenty full from my meal.

Along with tasty food, I received friendly and attentive service from my waitress, who refilled my glass of water and checked up on me a couple of times.

If you want to check out the restaurant for yourself, you can find it at 1515 W Pleasant Valley Rd, Parma, OH 44134.

Tony's is open 7 days a week, Sunday to Tuesday from 7 AM to 2 PM and Wednesday to Saturday from 7 AM to 8 PM.
