Heart-Stopping Footage Shows Brave Bystanders Risking Their Lives To Pull Complete Stranger From Burning Car

According to Fox News , a man was driving down I-94 in Minnesota around 6:30 PM on April 18 when he veered off the road and crashed into a light pole. The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames. Several good Samaritans immediately pulled over and jumped out of their cars to help.

“He was awake,” one of the heroes , Kadir Tolla, told the publication. “He was saying pull me out, pull me out, pull me out.”

Cameras on Kadir’s car caught footage of the brave rescue that shows a group of people desperately attempting to open the driver’s side door as flames engulf the scene. However, the door was wedged against a guardrail and would not open far enough for rescuers to reach the driver.

Bystanders Pulled Driver From Burning Car Just In Time

Kadir attempted to break open the window, but he was unsuccessful. He said the fire was “smacking us on our face,” but they refused to give up.

Eventually, a highway worker ran to help. He was able to shatter the window, and the group of bystanders then pulled the driver from the car—right in time.

“Right after we got him out, the fire started going in the car from the driver’s side,” Kadir continued. “… It feels like you’re watching an action movie.”

The video shows the fire consuming the SUV’s interior just after the bystanders clear the area.

“That could be me one day,” he added. “What would happen if I was in that situation and my life was in the hands of strangers that I don’t even know.”

Paramedics said the driver did no suffer any serious injuries, but they transported him to a local hospital for a full evaluation.
