BT-1. Darth Revan . Starkiller. These names may not mean much if you only know Star Wars from the movies, though that last one got re-incorporated in a new context.
To those who love Star Wars comics and video games, however, these stand among the most memorable of canonical and non-canonical legends. Hot Toys . having made most of the major characters form Ahsoka, now seems to be turning its focus to the Dark Side, and is doing so with a starting lineup of a droid, a Sith, and a famous apprentice in one possible timeline.
Terrible Trio
BT-01 is one of Doctor Aphra’s droids from the comics, along with modified, syringe-handed protocol droid 0-0-0. It’s a long-standing joke among sci-fi fans that a Star Wars character named “Doctor” has companions that look like a Dalek and a Cyberman, and indeed, BT-01 comes with an arsenal to exterminate any other astromech that opposes him. The $220 Hot Toys version has a detachable blaster cannon, missile, and rocket launchers, along with a retractable third leg.
Darth Revan hails from the Knights of the Old Republic video game. A former Jedi who waged war on the order, Revan later experienced amnesia and was retrained as a Jedi to confront the true Sith leader. Darth Revan was initially a nonbinary avatar with customizable gender, though in 2005 he was canonized as male in the official chronology. Hot Toys’ $270 figure features LED lightsabers, and a Sideshow exclusive edition with collector coin.
Before Starkiller was the name of the First Order’s sun-sucking base, it was the name of Darth Vader’s apprentice in The Force Unleashed video game. Like Revan, he can break bad or good; this figure offers his evil version, with red LED lightsabers. There’s also an exclusive version with coin, again; both versions cost $270.
