Infamous Process detractor Howard Eskin is now declaring that Tyrese Maxey, not Joel Embiid, is the best player on the Philadelphia 76ers.

"The star of the team is not Joel Embiid," Eskin told Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show.

"Hey big guy, how about a stinkin' rebound in the fourth quarter? Tyrese Maxey is without question the best basketball player on this 76ers team and it's not even close."

Sixers reporter Kyle Neubeck is not a fan of Eskin's hot take.

Embiid, who is the reigning NBA MVP, is playing on a left knee that is still recovering from a lateral meniscus injury. At well less than 100-percent, Embiid scored 34 points on 12-29 FG, 2-9 3FG, 8-12 FT with 10 rebounds and six assists in 39 minutes in the team's Game 2 loss at the Knicks.

However, Embiid had zero rebounds in the second half and has now had a sub 50-percent field-goal percentage in nine straight playoff games.

Before the injury, Embiid averaged a career high 34.7 points in just 33.6 minutes per game this season, albeit in just 39 games.

Maxey, 23, was named to his first All-Star team this year and was magnificent in Monday's playoff game scoring 35 points on 12-22 FG, 5-11 3FG, 6-6 FT to go along with 10 assists and nine boards. Maxey, along with Allen Iverson and Wilt, became just the third Sixer ever to have a 35-5-10 playoff performance.
