Move Over Law reminder

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is reminding people about Illinois’ Move Over Law, or Scott’s Law, after one of their squad cars was damaged in a crash. The crash happened on Route 48 near Willeys Sunday.

Two deputies were responding to an incident with their emergency lights activated when a car sideswiped one of the squad cars. No one was injured but the sheriff’s vehicle sustained heavy damage.

Grocery stores could sell

More Jewel-Osco and Mariano’s grocery stores could be hitting the sale block.

As part of a nearly $25 billion merger, Kroger and Albertsons originally planned to sell about 400 grocery stores. That number has now been raised to 600 stores across the country and 35 in Illinois.

Company officials said the increase was to make the deal more appealing to antitrust officials who attempted to block the merger last year.

Chicago most 'walkable'

A new study that analyzes major U.S. cities and how easy it is to navigate the most recognizable landmarks on foot ranks Chicago as the easiest.

Preply found that the Windy City is the most walkable city for tourists in the country, with it taking just 28 minutes to explore the city’s most famous landmarks, including “The Bean '' and the Magnificent Mile.

Orlando ranked as the least walkable, as it takes 11 hours to cover the city’s landmarks on foot.
