    Louisiana Festivals & Events Happening this Weekend: April 24 through April 28

    There's a big festival happening this weekend somewhere in Louisiana.

    The last weekend of April is one of the most important festival weekends of the year in Louisiana. To begin with, it's the first weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Festival International de Louisiane, the Italian Festival, the Annual Etouffee Festival, and more exciting events that people wait for all year long, happen this weekend.

    Many travel from other parts of the world annually to attend these famous festivals in our state.

    New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival - April 25, 26, 27, 28

    1751 Gentilly Blvd.

    The first of weeekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival opens on Thursday, April 25, with a $50 Local's Day. Louisiana residents can purchase up to two admissions in advance online or at the gate on April 25 only. Ticket holders must enter the fair grounds together.

    It's all about music, food, culture, crafts, art, and the Louisiana Folk and Native American heritages.

    The weekend's biggest musical acts incude:

    • The Beach Boys
    • Chris Stapleton
    • Jon Batiste
    • Stephen Marley
    • Heart

    General admission tickets at the gate are $105. The Rolling Stones appear onstage at Jazz Fest next weekend, May 2, but tickets for that day are sold out.

    Festival International de Louisiane - Lafayette - April 24, 25, 26, 27, 28

    Downtown Lafayette

    Free to the general public, Festival International de Louisiane is an international music and arts festival that brings a variety of unique performers to Louisiana. The five-day cultural celebration features food, music, art, and crafts from around the world.

    Italian Festival - Tickfaw - April 26, 27, 28

    Enjoy delicious Italian food, live music, and carnival rides at the 51st annual Italian Festival. Italian favorites available for purchase include spaghetti & meatballs, lasagna, stuffed artichokes, pizza, Italian ice, muffalettas, cannoli, Italian tea, and Italian cookies. Other festival treats and drinks will also be available.

    A parade happens at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 27, in Downtown Tickfaw.

    Etouffee Festival - Arnaudville - April 26, 27, 28

    370 Main Street

    The 34th annual Etouffee Festival offers a taste of a variety of etouffees including crawfish, seafood, vegetable, and wild game. The festival features live music, carnival rides, shopping, an auto show, bingo, and an etouffee cookoff.

    The musical lineup includes:

    • Kade Domec
    • Clay Cormier & the Highway Boys
    • One Trick Pony
    • Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin' Cajuns

    The etouffee cookoff happens on Saturday with morning, with judging at 11:30 AM.

    Choctaw Apache Tribal Pow-Wow -- Noble - April 26 & 27

    217 Gene Knight Road

    Held twice a year on Tribal grounds, the Choctaw Apache Tribal Pow-Wow features demonstrations, traditional cuisine, a wild game cookoff, an art walk, and arts and crafts. Dancers and guest drums are welcome.

    Pirates & Boots Festival - Houma - April 27

    8226 E Park Avenue

    Celebrating bayou heritage with the mission of keeping the Terrebonne area clean, the Pirates & Boots Festival is a day of high-energy fun and community spirit at the Houma Downtown Marina. Live pirate shows, boot-stomping music, delectable eats, fun activities, a kids' corner, plus local eats and drinks round out an action-packed day.

    Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival- Belle Chasse - April 26, 27, 28

    333 F Edward Hebert Blvd

    Food, crafts, live music, a kids' tent, and carnival rides highlight the Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival, which celebrates the rich heritage of the people of the parish.

    Music will be provided by:

    • R&R Smokin Foundation
    • Andre' & the Giants
    • NOLA Groove
    • Nashville South
    • Electric Ramble
    • Louisiana Landfall
    • Rockin Dopsie Jr. & the Zydeco Twisters

    Admission is $5 for adults on Saturday and Sunday and free on Friday night. Children under 12 admitted free all weekend.
