Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Gray and First Assistant Timothy Poynter tried the case, calling the Cuero Police to testify about the methamphetamine which was found on Villarreal. There was a total 4.43 grams seized during the arrest.

The case was heard by the Honorable Julie Bauknight of the 267th Judicial District Court. The defendant faced between two and twenty years in prison.
