On April 17, Three Chord Bourbon announced it is joining forces with The Allman Brothers Band to release a whiskey as part of the brand's Backstage Series . The whiskey is set to release in the summer.
"We are thrilled to welcome The Allman Brothers Band to our Backstage Series lineup. Their unique sound and style perfectly align with our mission to create distinctive, music-inspired blends that resonate with fans of both whiskey and great music," Three Chord Bourbon Whiskey Maker Ari Sussman said in a news release . "Our goal is to create a whiskey that not only honors their legacy but also celebrates their contribution to the world of rock and roll."
Sussman also serves as a whiskey maker for Eric Church's brand, Whiskey JYPSI . The whiskey is a custom blend made by Three Chord Bourbon, and The Allman Brothers release will include a custom-designed label featuring artwork from the band. Those interested in more information about the upcoming release can follow Three Chord Bourbon's Instagram page. The Allman Brothers, a popular rock band that formed in 1969, is known for hits like "Midnight Rider," "Whipping Post" and "Ramblin' Man." This bourbon release marks a first for the band. Three Chord Bourbon was created by Neil Giraldo, a musician and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Giraldo is a songwriter who has worked with Pat Benatar, Kenny Loggins, Beth Hart and many other artists, according to his website. According to Giraldo, one night he was sipping bourbon in the studio with a few friends and began to wonder about how blending "tones" of whiskeys could make a distinctive "harmony" of aromas and flavors in the glass, which led to Three Chord's inception. The brand kicked off its Backstage Series in
December . The intent behind the series is to bring American bands together to custom-pick bourbon from Three Chord Bourbon's stocks, making it a distinctive partnership within the realm of celebrity-driven whiskey releases. As far as other musical-themed releases, perhaps none drew more attention this year than Chris Stapleton's collaboration with Buffalo Trace, which dropped in January . The release of Stapleton's Traveller Whiskey marked the first time the bourbon brand collaborated with a celebrity of any kind. The partnership seemed like an organic one, as Stapleton is a Kentucky native who was born not too far from the distillery. [botmc-promo]
