Multiple organizations gathered Thursday evening to encourage community members to use eco-friendly modes of transportation.

Cyclists with GObike Buffalo Ride Reels say there are many benefits to trading in a vehicle for a bicycle.

"It feels so much better to burn calories instead of burning fossil fuels," said cyclist Jennifer White. "The movement and getting around with the power of my own body, makes me feel healthy, it makes me feel happy and it's a great lifestyle. I save a lot of money biking over driving."

Clean Mobility Buffalo is another organization working to sustain a more clean environment.

"The program focuses on bringing clean transportation to the East Side of Buffalo," said Nina Bronner of Clean Mobility Buffalo. "It's an area that's historically negatively impacted by emissions and pollution."

Dave Otminski is with the National Drive Electric organization. He's also an EV owner.

Starting in 2035, all new cars sold in New York State will be fully electric. He says more people are making the switch.

"I've owned an EV since 2019," said Otminski. "Ev's are good because they don't use gas. They don't burn gas which is important for the environment and there's less maintenance."
