In a recent interview on The Rashad Richey Morning Show's weekly segment " Run tell that, " former Ohio State Senator and Senior Fellow at the New School Institute on Race, Power, and Political Economy, the Honorable Nina Turner , engaged in a thought-provoking discussion about the controversial $95 billion foreign aid package approved by President Biden and Congress.

Senator Turner highlighted the significant imbalance in the allocation of funds within the foreign aid package. A staggering $61 billion was designated for Ukraine, $26 billion for Israel, and $8 billion for Taiwan, raising concerns about the minimal emphasis on humanitarian efforts. Less than 10% of the package was earmarked for addressing urgent humanitarian needs, prompting Senator Turner to question the government's priorities.

The conversation also touched on the ban on TikTok, a popular social media platform, despite President Biden's own campaign continuing to utilize it. Senator Turner emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to data protection across all social media platforms, urging for a more holistic legislative response to safeguard user information effectively.

Senator Turner further highlighted the disparity in the allocation of resources, expressing bewilderment at the rapid approval of billions of dollars for foreign aid while critical issues within the United States remain unaddressed. She underscored the urgency of tackling domestic challenges such as homelessness, raising the federal minimum wage, and rectifying systemic inequalities perpetuated by practices like the sub-minimum wage.

She also emphasized the role of civic engagement in driving policy change, encouraging listeners to join advocacy organizations and reach out to elected officials to demand accountability. She stressed the power of collective action in driving meaningful reforms and addressing the pressing needs of American citizens.
