In a case that underscores the importance of vigilance in handling delivered packages, Rosilis V. Pelletier, 51, of East Stroudsburg, faces multiple criminal charges following a series of events that began with the disappearance of mail. The Pocono Township Police Department responded to a call on April 11, 2024, at 4617 Buck Valley Circle after a victim reported missing packages.

The victim had ordered items from Kohl's, which were confirmed delivered by UPS on April 10, 2024. A photograph provided by UPS showed the packages on a different porch, which the victim later recognized while walking in her neighborhood. Upon contacting Pelletier, the homeowner of the residence in the photograph, she denied having the packages.

Further investigation led to an inconsistency in Pelletier’s statements. Although she admitted to receiving Kohl's packages on the same day, she refused to show proof from her UPS delivery details or video from her security camera. This led to the execution of a search warrant at Pelletier's home on April 14, where police found the missing large Kohl's box, matching the one in the UPS photograph, alongside a smaller Kohl's box from Pelletier’s own order.

Kohl's loss prevention department confirmed that all items Pelletier ordered were packaged in the smaller box, and no deliveries in the large box were made to her address on that day. The discovery pointed to a deliberate act of theft rather than a delivery error.

Pelletier has been charged with theft of mislaid property, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, false reports to law enforcement, and theft of mail. She is awaiting her preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge.
