Kendrick Lamar goes in with 6 minute Drake diss, 'euphoria': Listen now

A month after his initial warning shot on Future and Metro Boomin ’s “Like That,” Kendrick Lamar is back with “euphoria,” a six-minute opus dedicated to absolutely eviscerating Drake .
Calling him out for his parenting, his rap skills, his Toronto background, his rumored BBL, his fake accents, and more, Kendrick ’s latest offering no doubt has the OVO rapper ducking for cover or possibly even considering witness protection.
While on “Like That” Lamar focused on his aggravation about the idea of rap’s big three, this time he’s getting real about his feeling towards Drake , and he really holds nothing back. The track opens with a reversed clip, that thanks to the Dissect Podcast , has been uncovered to be a scene from 1978's The Wiz, of Richard Pryor 's character saying "Everything they say about me's true!"
After that, Kendrick starts off on a slow flow, reflecting on watching someone’s “superpowers” be "neutralized." Name calling Drizzy everything from a “degenerate” and “distasteful” to “calculated,” and “a scam artist,” before closing out the verse with the thought provoking mic drop, “But don't tell no lie about me and I won't tell truths 'bout you.”
But obviously, Kendrick does no such thing. From there, the song picks up, exploding into a deadly barrage of bars directly aimed at Drake. “This ain’t been ’bout critics, not about gimmicks, not about who the greatest,” he raps. “It’s always been about love and hate, now let me say I’m the biggest hater / I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk / I hate the way that you dress.”
And as it seems when it comes to Drake, Kendrick’s hate knows no bounds, and also includes "the b****es you f***” who "confuse themselves with real women.” Making claims he isn’t just speaking for himself, but is rather voicing "what the culture feeling.”
Kendrick also lasers in on a few fatherhood-focused digs, picking up right where Pusha T left off in 2018. Rapping, “Why would I call around trying to get dirt on n****s? / Y’all thinking my life is rap? That's ho s*** / I got a son to raise but I can see you don’t know nothing 'bout that.”
Taking a beat to spread the hate, Kendrick also mentions J. Cole , rapping: "Cole and Aubrey know I'm a selfish guy, the crown is heavy / I pray they my real friends, if not, I'm YNW Melly.”
The rest of "euphoria" sees Kendrick continuing to come for Drake, asserting that unlike him, Drizzy has no classics in his catalog. Continuing with a play on words and stab at his six pack. “Yeah, my first one like my last one, it's a classic, you don't have one / Let your core audience stomach that, then tell 'em where you get your abs from.”
Making one last claim of disdain for Drake and “Whoever that's f***in’ with him,” Kendrick says, “f*** you n****s, and f*** the industry too.” Adding, “If you take it there, I'm takin' it further / Psst, that's somethin' you don't wanna do,” before sing rapping his way out, declaring, "We don't wanna hear you say n**** no more / We don't wanna hear you say n**** no more/ Stop.”
Listen to the track below.
After an unsuccessful attempt with “Taylor Made,” and taking his time with his response on “Push Ups,” this time Drake took to his IG stories with a quickness to confirm he received the message. Entering the chat with just the right amount of trolling we’ve come to expect.
Referencing the hailstorm of hate infused bars on “euphoria,” about the way he walks and dresses, Drake posted a clip from the 1999 classic 10 Things I Hate About You where Julia Stiles ’ character recites a poem listing off all of the things she hates about a crush even though she loves them. Which, let’s be real, no matter you stance, or how you feel, you must admit, is a hilarious response.
As for the obviously expected diss track to come from Drake, during one of his livestreams Akademiks confirmed something is brewing. Reading a text he received from the rapper that said, “I’m energized by the elimination of Drake… See you soon.” with that first part referencing recent comments from Kanye West , another already established foe of Drake, made on Justin Laboy ’s The Download podcast. This should be interesting.
