Kindergarten classes from around Charlotte County made their way to Randolph-Henry High on Friday, April 25, as part of Farm Day. The agriculture department set up a learning experience at the school’s Land Lab, offering some hands-on activities to help students understand more about farming.

Throughout the day, students engaged in interactive lessons covering topics such as plants, horses, cattle, and other farm animals. They enjoyed train and wagon rides, enriching their understanding of farm life while exploring the picturesque surroundings. Students had the chance to explore many agricultural stations, including beekeeping, power equipment demonstrations, country Olympics, the catfish pond, a greenhouse tour, and related books.

Kindergarten Farm Day not only provided valuable educational opportunities for the participating students but also served as a platform for high school students to showcase their leadership skills as instructors to the next generation of FFA members.

“It was a beautiful day filled with learning, exploration, and fun,” said Randolph-Henry Principal Erin Davis. “We hope to foster a deeper appreciation for agriculture and inspire young minds to explore the world of farming.”
