TEXAS — Grocery chain H-E-B has announced a voluntary recall of several batches of its Creamy Creations ice cream due to the potential presence of metal fragments. The recall, which was officially issued on April 27, 2024, and reported by the FDA on April 29, concerns 12-count packages of 3-ounce cups in select flavors distributed across all H-E-B stores in Texas, as well as in Mexico, Central Market, Joe V’s Smart Shop, and Mi Tienda stores.

The products involved in this recall include:

    • 3-ounce H-E-B Creamy Creations Chocolate Ice Cream – 12 pack with UPC 4122062948, featuring code dates ranging from September 6, 2024, to September 14, 2024.
    • 3-ounce H-E-B Creamy Creations Ice Cream Lime/Orange Combo – 12 pack with UPC 4122081930, with code dates from August 31, 2024, to September 3, 2024.

The UPC and code dates are located on the back of the product’s outer bag, not on the individual ice cream cups.

To date, no injuries related to this issue have been reported. H-E-B has removed all affected products from store shelves and is working diligently to ensure that safe products are available to customers as soon as possible. Consumers who have purchased these items are advised not to consume them and can return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.
