The newest member of the Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is Hometown Pest Control, owned by Andy Erickson of Walker. Andy moved to the area in 2013 as a member of Pike Bay Police Department before switching positions to fulltime with the Walker Police Department. Looking for additional work, he purchased Mosquito Be Gone and began treating residential and commercial properties for mosquitos and wood ticks. With the help of some amazing employees, he then expanded again. He purchased North Star Pest Control’s Cass County area, which enables him to spray residences and businesses for all insect and pests that including spiders, ants, cockroaches, bed bugs, Asian beetles, boxelder bugs and more. With the success of insect pest control, the company expanded again into mice control and bat removal, live trapping and nuisance trapping of animals. Andy had to change the name of his company to accommodate all these new changes, so Hometown Pest Control was founded. He hopes to continue to serve the Walker and surrounding areas for a long time. Andy Erickson is pictured with Chamber Director Cindy Wannarka holding the First Business Dollar.
