    Titans host TCU Invite and earns several top finishes

    Despite several event postponements due to poor weather conditions throughout the morning, the Tri-City United track and field team managed to host the TCU invite Thursday night, featuring a quartet of schools. The Titan girls team ran away with a first-place finish with 254.5 points while the boys finished second with a team score of 158.

    Highlights for the girls came early and often, beginning with Alexis Marcussen claiming third in the 100 meter dash posting a time of 14.12. In the 200m dash, Kaitlyn Hartwig claimed first with a time of 27.84.

    The Titans claimed the top three finishes in the 400m dash with Carly Hartwig (1:00.65), Kinsley Mach (1:06.46) and Natalie Gonzalez (1:09.20) holding down the podium. In the 800m run, Yasmin Ruiz finished first with a PR time of 2:26.48 and in the 1600m run, she finished third with another PR time of 5:30.21.

    In the 3200m run, Lillian Rondorf finished second with a PR time of 13:26.69. Khloe Flicek finished third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.53 before claiming second in the 300m hurdles with a time of 51.85.

    The relay races began with the 4x100m team of Jillian Houn, Aubrie Barnett, Marcussen and Flicek finishing second with a time of 52.98. In the 4x200m relay race, the team of K. Hartwig, C. Hartwig, Houn and Flicek finished first with a time of 1:49.70.

    K. Hartwig, C. Hartwig Kinsley Mach and Ruiz finished first in the 4x400m relay race with a time of 4:21.16 and in the 4x800m relay race, the team of Taylor Gengel, Kaylee Gogerty, Rondorf and Mach finished second with a time of 11:19.90.

    Field highlights began with the shot put where Kaylee Harkins finished first with a throw of 27 feet and six inches while Hannah Caron finished second with a mark of 28’8”. Caron finished first in the discus with a throw of 77’11”.

    In the high jump, Kristin Siebsen finished first with a top clear of 4’8” while C. Hartwig finished third with a clear of 4’2”. Sophia Smith finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 8’6”.

    In the long jump, Houn finished first with a PR jump of 15’2” while Marcussen finished third with a leap of 14’10”. TCU swept the podium in the triple jump with Houn (34’0.25”), Marcussen (33’2.25”) and Smith (29’9”) taking the top three finishes.

    Highlights for the boys began with Eric Borchardt claiming third in the 200m dash with a PR time of 23.81. In the 400m dash, Connor Flintrop finished second with a time of 53.08 while Borchardt finished third with a time of 53.88.

    Grant Fitterer finished second in the 800m run with a PR time of 2:07.79 while Goi Ruei claimed second in the 1600m run posting a PR time of 4:53.42. In the 3200m run, Peter Robrahn finished second with a PR time of 11:55.74 while Caleb Robrahn finished third with a PR time of 12:03.51.

    The 4x100m relay team of Abram Chimal, Lucas Holicky, Parker Hanson and Flintrop finished second with a time of 47.01. Fitterer, Phelps, Eli Viskocil and P. Robrahn teamed up to finish second in the 4x800m relay race with a time of 9:08.43.

    In the high jump, Erick Borchardt finished first with a PR clear of 5’6” while Viskocil claimed third in the pole vault with a jump of 10’. In the long jump, Holicky finished third with a top leap of 18’2.5”.

    TCU is scheduled to return to action Tuesday, May 7, when the team travels to Jordan to compete in the Section 2AA True Team meet.
