Celebrating Women: Women of God's Annual Awards Honor Cuyahoga County Achievers

Cuyahoga County. - The Women of God Ministry held their fifteenth Awards Ceremony. Women throughout Cuyahoga County came to Oakwood Village to celebrate women and recognize their community achievements. "This annual event is a celebratory moment for women and men. We salute individuals who are doing great work in the community. They can be a housewife, corporate executive, community activist, a pastor, grandmother, an elected official, and it does not matter. If they are empowering others and helping to make the world a better place to live, we want to recognize them - their work will not go unnoticed," said Dana D. Anderson, President.

As the clock struck noon, women started to pour into the Elegance Ballroom in Oakwood Village. The organization greeted the ladies with giveaway bags, local vendors, a drink cafe, friends and family members, and a smooth mixture of jazz, rhythm and blues, and gospel by DJ Brown on Cleveland. It was surely a glorified moment with lights, cameras, and action. "We wanted our honorees to know "We see you." This afternoon, our women (Queens) were crowned and celebrated," says Anderson.

This year's recipients included Ruth Irene Gray (President of South Euclid City Council), Meredith Turner (Cuyahoga County Councilwoman District 9), Lady Gilmore (Community Activist and Radio Personality), Francesca Curlee, Gwendolyn Grant (Councilwoman Bedford Heights), Valerie Brown (Model Coach), Velma Draper (Pastor), Terri Hurd, Ronda Stubbs-Tatum (Business Owner), Anita Smith, Ariana Johnson (Communications Consultant), Monique Wynn, Mary Addision-Carter, Carlee Davenport, Demeyonna Willis, Dominicque Smith, Terri Shell and Dee Dee Tufts (Fashion Designer and Trainer).

Women of God is an outreach to women, regardless of their status in life. This ministry fosters an environment where women, youth, and children can deepen their faith through prayer, fasting, worship, Bible study, and mentorship.
