Lady Panthers fall in single-game area playoff

MUMFORD – Getting out of the second round of the Conference 2A softball playoffs was not in the cards for the Burton Lady Panthers, who saw a promising start quickly evaporate into a 9-1 defeat at the hands of Thrall on Saturday in the area round of the postseason.

Saturday’s proceedings started strong for pitcher Bailey Glaesmann. She earned a pair of strikeouts and allowed just one baserunner in a crisp inning of work. Her strike rate was tremendous as well, throwing 11 of her 15 pitches over the plate.
