DeKalb County is abuzz with excitement as Decide DeKalb gears up to host the DeKalb Economic Development Week 2024 in collaboration with the International Economic Development Council . Scheduled from May 6th to May 10th, this week-long event is set to showcase the economic potential of DeKalb County and bring forth a plethora of opportunities for residents and businesses alike.
Decide DeKalb CEO Dorian DeBarr provided insight into the organization's pivotal role in driving economic prosperity throughout the county. With a strong focus on business attraction, retention, and expansion, Decide DeKalb is committed to partnering with local businesses, small business owners, and entrepreneurs to foster growth and innovation within the community.
Mr. DeBarr emphasized that economic development is not solely about creating jobs; it's about creating a vibrant, inclusive community where businesses can thrive and individuals can succeed. Over the past decade, Decide DeKalb has been instrumental in creating over 8,000 new jobs in the county since 2022, showcasing their dedication to fostering economic growth and opportunity.
One of the key events during the DeKalb Economic Development Week is the Business Resource 101 session, designed to connect businesses of all sizes with the resources and support necessary for success. From networking opportunities with key stakeholders to educational sessions on tax incentives and opportunity zones, this event aims to provide valuable resources for businesses looking to elevate their operations.
