    BRATTLEBORO-A former Selectboard member has announced that he will be running for state representative for District 9 (formerly District 3).

    Have any of you looked at the condition of Brattleboro? This man an attorney and served on the select board while his officers hands are tied and can't penalize illicit drug users or aggressive pandhandlers? The housing situation and drug crisis in Brattleboro since the pandemic makes Brattleboro look like Burlington and Rutland. The shelter situation here is ridiculous and we have watched tourists be pushed out of the area for lodging. Minimum wage workers in the area were kicked out of hotels last year. The mental health system and Medical care is horrific. There are plenty of old buildings and property space to turn into apts yet site empty or abandoned. Businesses in downtown Brattleboro have also shuttered. There is nothing to do in Brattleboro for children on rainy days or snow storms. Coupled with organizations that are supposed to be getting the unhoused housed and stabilized failing miserably under the Shelter plus Care Voucher.
