A notorious Upstate crime figure is out of prison early and has been accused by a social media outlet of trying to strike up a sexual relationship with an underaged girl.

Kevin "Boston" Maler is one of the most infamous criminals in Oconee County's modern history. He was charged with the 2019 murder of Kevin Craig in Oconee County. Those charges were dropped last summer due to what prosecutors said was insufficient evidence.

He also has been named as a person of interest in the disappearance cases of at least two women. One who went mission from the Boston area in the late 80's and the other being Faith Roach who went missing from Oconee County in 2019. Neither of those women have been located and neither one of their bodies have been found, to this day.

Maler was doing a 5 year prison sentence on a drug conviction. He was charged with distributing meth in 2019 and trafficking meth in 2021. Maler is out of prison and has now been exposed by a Facebook page called Palmetto Creep Patrol.

Posts from that same page show screen shots of messages that Maler allegedly sent to someone claiming to be a 15 year old girl. The messages show Maler allegedly making sexually charged comments towards the girl.

Maler has been to prison 4 times by his own admission and yet was released early in his last stint. That has caused many Oconee County residents to speculate whether he has/is working as a law enforcement informant?
