    It's Mother's Day weekend and a great time to treat Mom to fun at a Louisiana festival. Here's what's happening around the state.

    Poke Salad Festival - Blanchard - May 9, 10, 11

    Celebrating the edible and medicinal native plant, pokeweed, the Poke Salad Festival features parades, carnival rides, a treasure hunt, live entertainment, a street dance, art, crafts, food, and fun.

    Rayne Frog Festival - Rayne - May 9, 10, 11

    Music, food, carnival rides, frog racing, a frog derby, a diaper derby, a frog leg eating contest, a sauce piquant eating contest, a parade, and so much more await this year's visitors at 2024 Rayne Frog Festival.

    Boggy Bayou Festival - Pine Prairie - May 9, 10, 11

    4473 Heritage Road

    Established in 1984, the Boggy Bayou Festival benefits the Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie. Guests can enjoy food, music, carnival rides, a parade, mutton busting, cold beer, an auction, and loads of fun.

    Admission is for those over 12 is $3 on Friday and $6 on Saturday.

    Cochon de Lait Festival - Mansura - May 10 & 11

    1822 Leglise Street

    Held in Mansura, the cochon de lait capital of the world, the Cochon de Lait Festival features delectable roast suckling pig, Cajun food, Louisiana music, a children's pig pen, a parade, a cracklin contest, and a greasy pig contest. Doors open at 10:30 AM.

    K. Levy's Legends Music Festival - Vacherie - May 11

    Great music, local cuisine, interactive experiences, and family-oriented activities celebrate the rich, cultural history of St. James Parish at K. Levy's Legends Music Festival.

    Admission is free, to ensure that this celebration of music and culture is accessible to everyone. Gates are open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
