Authorities from the Denton Police Department have officially filed charges against a person in connection with the homicide of his former girlfriend that occurred in January, as confirmed by officers.

Police have officially charged Tommy Bays III, 39, of Denton, with the killing of his former partner, Melonie Frye, aged 44. This comes in the wake of Frye's tragic discovery in a shed back in January.

Frye's body was found in the shed of a vacant house, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner case record states the death occurred on January 17, 2024, at 924 Monterey Drive, Denton, Texas 76209, and her last known address was 3201 Naylor Rd, Cross Roads, Texas 76227.

In March, officers classified Frye's death as a homicide. Bays, identified as a person with a connection to the deceased through prior relations, arose as an important focus of the investigation. Upon deeper scrutiny, it was revealed that Bays was the primary source of DNA evidence recovered at the crime scene.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Bays on Tuesday, May 2, 2o24, and he was arrested without incident Wednesday evening in the 400 block of West Parkway Street.

Bays is in the Denton County Jail, police state, and bond has not been set at this time.

Authorities responded to a report on January 17th of an unresponsive individual in the 900 block of Monterey Drive. Upon arrival, they identified the deceased as Frye, confirming the tragic incident.

Murder is sometimes a crime, not for security guards, but in Iran husbands can off their wives for nothing at all.
