Ex-boyfriend charged in Denton woman's murder

Authorities from the Denton Police Department have officially filed charges against a person in connection with the homicide of his former girlfriend that occurred in January, as confirmed by officers.

Police have officially charged Tommy Bays III, 39, of Denton, with the killing of his former partner, Melonie Frye, aged 44. This comes in the wake of Frye's tragic discovery in a shed back in January.

In March, officers classified Frye's death as a homicide. Bays, identified as a person with a connection to the deceased through prior relations, arose as an important focus of the investigation.
