    Hesperia awarding $1,000 in gift cards to resident who takes pride in their home

    HESPERIA – Hesperia is asking for nominations for their quarterly Pride Enhancement Program (PEP), due May 15, to award a resident $1,000 in gift cards for contributing to the aesthetic appeal of the community.

    According to Moving.com, 75% of homeowners who invest in curb appeal say they have a greater desire to be home since completing the project and 59% say they have an increased sense of enjoyment when they are at home.

    $1,000 in gift cards

    Hesperia wants to know if you have a neighbor who takes pride in the curb appeal of their home? Or do your neighbors always compliment your home's landscaping? They want community members to nominate a neighbor or themself for a chance to receive one (1) $500 gift card to Harbor Freight and one (1) $500 gift card to Tractor Supply Co.

    Eligible features

    The city will consider the following features when selecting a winner:

    • Manicured landscaping
    • Drought-tolerant landscaping
    • Rock-scaping
    • Flowers, plants and trees
    • Driveway resurfacing
    • Window enhancement
    • Exterior paint
    • Overall curb appeal

    Announcement

    One winner is selected at each quarterly City Council Advisory Committee Meeting, held the 1st Thursday in March, June, September and December.

    The city will recognize and award the winner at a subsequent council meeting.

    um... let's have a real chat for a moment..... rewarding people who can afford to maintain their yards with money is ridiculous.... why not use these gift cards for homes that NEED work... maybe it's a monetary issue and the $1000 would be the perfect gift to plant some fresh flowers or hire someone the control the weeds. ass backwards Hesperia... shame on you
