Atlantic Girl’s Qualify Eight Events for State Track Meet

(Atlantic) The Atlantic Girls’ Track team had a strong showing at the State Qualifying Meet on Thursday, qualifying in eight events. The Trojans will compete in four relays: the Distance Medley, Shuttle Hurdle, Sprint Medley, and 4×100. Head Coach Matt Mullenix says the athletes know when they walk in February, there will be some good results and rewards in mid-May.

The quartet in the winning Distance Medley included Morgan Botos, Lila Wiederstein, and Nicole Middents and was anchored by Claire Pellett in the 800.

The Shuttle Relay came through with Botos, Wiederstein, Adler Bruce, and Jaci Reed.

The Sprint Medley Relay members are Hailey Huffman, Reed, Botos, and Pellett. The 4×100 relay team of Huffman, Reed, Allison Middents, and Wiederstein ran 50.91.

Individually, Claire Pellett is in the 800 1500, Jaci Reed in the 100 Hurdles, and Lila Wiederstein is competing in the Long Jump.

The State Track Meet runs May 16, 17, and 18th.
