Covington County 4-H recently sent 10 students to the 4-H Regional Congress held at Luverne High School on Saturday, April 27.

Students competed in six events, and Covington County finished with six winners in various categories. Those include Birdhouse, Blocks Rocks (Lego), The World I See (Photography), Public Speaking, and Freestyle Showcase Competitions.

These students first won in their classroom competitions and then represented their schools at the Covington County 4-H RoundUP competition. The winners from there went on to represent Covington County against the winners from nine other counties at the Regional Congress.

Andalusia Elementary School student Stanley Davis was selected as the winner of the Freestyle Showcase category. In addition, AES student Aria Heitzman was the winner of the Blocks Rocks (Lego) category, and AES student Amre Marcotte won the Public Speaking Category.

Pleasant Home School student Maddie Kelley and Brenna Harrelson, a homeschooled student, were chosen as the winners of the Extreme Birdhouse category. Brooklyn Lassiter, another homeschooled student, was the winner of The World I See (Photography) category.

Three students will be selected from these winners and go on to represent Covington County in June at the State Competitive Events Day at the Alabama 4-H Center.
