VENICE — The Venice-Nokomis Woman’s Club awarded $6,000 in scholarships to three local students, amounting to more than $192,500 the club has awarded over the past 36 years.

The money went to Venice High School students Aryana Lovely and Elizabeth Mopps, as well as to VHS graduate Kaylee Wesner. They were rewarded for their academic skills and community involvement, according to a press release from the organization.

The Venice-Nokomis Woman’s Club was aided by the staff of Venice High School’s Rotary Futures and the College Resource Center led by Director Caitlin Joyner, who was assisted by Heather Masden and Tami Wesner.

Venice High’s Aryana Lovely will pursue a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Psychology with an emphasis on Risk Management in the insurance field at Florida Southern College. She also plans to start her own non-profit organization in the Music Therapy arena.

Student Elizabeth Mopps will be attending the “3+2 Program” in Athletic Sports Training at the University of Tampa this fall, in the hope of becoming a college or professional sports team trainer.

Venice High graduate Kaylee Wesner will be entering her junior year at the University of Florida, where she’s pursuing a bachelor’s in Health Science in the university’s pre-med track.
