Is this really surprising. Just because People A-M will not store food or other things to attracts rodents and bugs doesn't mean people N-Z won't. Renting a storage unit is similar to renting an apartment, you are at the mercy of others. If your neighbor's apartment catches on fire likely chance is yours will to. If someone near your storage unit does something to attract rodents or other pests then chances are you will be infested to. They can't check what people are storing in their unit because that is a violation of privacy.Truthfully, all thesr places can do is continue to set traps and spray for insects, especially this time of year. I do feel bad for this lady. Businesses like that have great lawyers and many details hidden in the rental contract associated with this type of issue. Unfortunately, I do not see a $50,000 compensation for the rodent issue coming her way for those reasons. But, all of that could be very wrong, certain people will always get what they want
