    Columbia to Host Inaugural Southeastern BBQ Showdown with Legendary Band Alabama

    Columbia is gearing up for a culinary and musical extravaganza with the inaugural Southeastern BBQ Showdown on June 14-15, 2024, in Columbia/Lake Murray, SC.

    This two-day event promises to bring together BBQ enthusiasts, food lovers, and music fans for an unforgettable experience. General public tickets go on sale Friday, March 22, at 10 a.m.

    Hosted by Capital City/Lake Murray Country, the event will be held at Segra Park, home of the Columbia Fireflies. This marks the first food sport competition to be hosted in a sports stadium in the United States.

    On Friday, June 14, you'll enjoy the South Carolina BBQ Association’s chicken wing competition, interactive exhibits on BBQ techniques, and live music from the Southeast's #1 Shag band, Band of Oz.

    Saturday, June 15, will feature 25 top BBQ teams from across the nation. Celebrity chefs will prepare for the final stage event, with celebrity judges overseeing the grand finale and awards presentation.

    The day will culminate in a concert by the multi-award-winning band Alabama, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
