Will Ferrell to Headline (Talladega Nights-Like?) GOLF Comedy for Netflix

Netflix announced on Wednesday, ahead of its Upfront presentation to advertisers, that it is officially teeing up a 10-episode golf comedy starring SNL vet Will Ferrell and Ramy ‘s Ramy Youssef.

In GOLF (yes, all caps), which is co-created by Ferrell, Youssef and Josh Rabinowitz, Ferrell will play a fictional golf legend.

No details have been shared yet on Youssef’s character.

This Netflix announcement comes a little over a year after our sister site Deadline reported that Ferrell and producing partner Jessica Elbaum were teaming up with Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman’s shingle on a golf comedy about a PGA rival, and that would be in the vein of Ferrell’s Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Blades of Glory . It is unclear if Netflix’s GOLF is that exact same project, though many of the principal players remain the same.

Youssef and Rabinowitz will serve as showrunners on GOLF and executive-producer with Ferrell, Elbaum, Alix Taylor, Johnson, Bergman, Nena Rodrigue and Andy Campagna.
