CENTREVILLE — On May 13, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) kicked off National Prevention Week, which runs from May 12-18, by announcing the winners of the FentAlert Challenge. This annual event celebrates the potential of prevention science and provides a platform to highlight substance use prevention efforts nationwide.

The FentAlert Challenge invited U.S. youth aged 14-18 to propose community strategies for better educating their peers about the dangers of fentanyl and counterfeit pills, with the goal of preventing drug overdose deaths in the long term. The challenge garnered nearly 200 submissions from across the United States.

Among the top six winners were the QAC Drug Free Student Ambassadors, who proposed using an Escape Room as an engaging way to disseminate information.

The Escape Room is completely free and registration is now open to all Queen Anne’s residents aged 11 years and older (adults are welcome). Pre-registration is mandatory, and slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Time slots are available on the hour June 1, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and June 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Don't miss this opportunity to join Drug Free QAC for their first Escape Room event. It's not only a fantastic way to have fun but also an excellent opportunity to learn vital information in an engaging setting. Secure your spot today and be part of this unique experience https://rb.gy/k786g5
