A Nintendo Indie World Showcase is Coming Tomorrow

Nintendo doesn’t have much on its slate for the second half of the year, at least in terms of first-party titles, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t more games coming to the Switch. We’re about due for a new batch of announcements, and Nintendo’s bringing those announcements in the form of an Indie World Showcase.

Nintendo has announced a new Indie World Showcase, set to take place tomorrow, on April 17, 2024. The presentation will last for about 20 minutes, and will include both new announcements for indie games and updates to existing games already announced for the console.

One title that everybody will be holding their breath for is Hollow Knight: Silksong, the sequel to the hit metroidvania game from Australia’s Team Cherry. There’s been a lot of movement on Silksong in the past few months, with an update to the game’s Steam page earlier this year, the addition of an Xbox page for Silksong earlier this month , and age ratings in both South Korea and Australia published in the last few weeks. There’s a lot of smoke, but so far no fire — we’ll just have to wait and see if we get a release date (or a shadow drop) tomorrow.

April 2024 Nintendo Indie World Times

The Nintendo Indie World Showcase will take place at 7am PDT on April 17, 2024. That means it should be at a suitable time for most parts of the world, except the east coast of Australia and New Zealand, both of which have been stuck with middle-of-the-night release times. Bummer.

Nintendo will be livestreaming its April 2024 Indie World Showcase on YouTube, which we’ve embedded below for your viewing ease. Curiously, most of Nintendo’s Indie World Showcases in the past have been presented via a YouTube premiere, rather than a livestream, so it’s an interesting change of pace for Nintendo that might suggest there’s some big stuff in there.
